How do I know if I need RentAPlace software?
If you manage over 25 rental properties, you should be looking at the automation and consolidation of your data by using RentAPlace. The more properties you manage the rentals for, the more time and money you can save by using RentAPlace software.
I have only one computer and work from home, can I still use RentAPlace?
Absolutely. RentAPlace works just fine on one computer. You will still be able to manage an unlimited number of rentals. See our Requirements page for more specific info on this.
Does RentAPlace require Microsoft Office??
Yes, RentAPlace requires MS Office Professional version 2003 installed on any computer that uses the RentAPlace data. And QuickBooks 2007 if you use the QuickBooks accounting features, which only needs to be installed on one computer (server).
What kind of training comes with RentAPlace?
RentAPlace has one of the best HELP sections ever. And, because of the standard Windows/Office interface, you already know how to use many of its features. We offer a full day of onsite training for an additional fee. See PRICES PAGE.
Do I need a "server" to run RentAPlace?
No, a separate server is not necessary. We would set up your computer to act as its own server, and RentAPlace would run just fine. If you have a peer to peer network, then this computer would also act as a server to the other nodes on your network.
I have a network of 15 computers in my office, can we all use RentAPlace?
Yes, due to the fact that RentAPlace is built using a business class SQL database �back-end�, the number of users is almost unlimited, with about 255 being a practical limit.
I use an old practically obsolete rental program now. Can we import the data to RentAPlace?
Yes, most times we are able to import your existing data, assuming it is portable to a "ODBC" friendly format. This can result in an additional �customization� charge. We would be happy to analyze your specific situation. Sometimes, re-entering your old data manually can also be a great way to get users familiar with the program.
Can I use RentAPlace on my laptop also?
Yes, you can plug your laptop into the office network and share all the data just fine. If, per chance, you want to run the entire program from your laptop, that is fine too. The laptop would need to be sufficiently modern to run RentAPlace software.
I can create a Word document and do e-mail, but that is about it. Will I be able to learn RentAPlace?
Yes, you do not have to worry. After about a week, you will be able to train others to use RentAPlace. Ease of use was a very important criteria for our design.
